Teddy Bear Clinic: Children's Field Trip Program to Bon Secours Hospitals
Our popular and educational Teddy Bear Clinic program is geared for children ages 4-7 years old, and it is open to elementary schools and day care centers throughout the community. During the morning trip to our St. Mary's Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center or St. Francis Watkins Centre Emergency Departments, children are introduced to basic safety issues and then work with our nurses to learn about what to expect if they have to go to the hospital for a cut or broken bone. Each child brings a stuffed animal from home that will receive a stitch for an imaginary cut and a small cast for an imaginary broken bone. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 18 students and only run during the local county school year.
