The Bradley Method® embraces the idea that childbirth is a natural and safe process and that with the right preparation and support, most women can give birth without medication or routine interventions. The Bradley philosophy believes that every couple is unique and teaches you how to become aware of and work with your own inner strength and natural coping abilities during labor. Because no one approach works for everyone, Bradley classes incorporate a variety of easy and effective natural coping techniques in order to provide you and your partner with as many options as possible to meet the challenges of labor and be fully present during your baby's birth. Special focus is given to helping couples come together and support one another throughout the birthing process and beyond. As a master's prepared nurse and natural birthing mom, I offer a unique and well-rounded perspective, and I can help you partner with your practitioner to have the healthy and rewarding birth experience you desire.

You and your partner will learn:

  • How to take an active, informed role in the birthing process
  • How to stay healthy and low risk, increasing your options for birth
  • What to expect physically and emotionally during each stage of labor
  • Successful and practical natural coping strategies including: relaxation, abdominal breathing, and movement and positions to aide labor
  • How to find and work with your body's own natural coping abilities
  • Realistic labor rehearsals
  • How to connect with and support one another during childbirth and beyond
  • Understanding common medical tools, including when they are needed and how to effectively use them during labor
  • How to partner with your practitioner, emphasizing positive communication
  • Bonding with your baby, breastfeeding basics, and common postpartum concerns
