H1N1 Flu Changes Bon Secours Visitation Policy Through March 2010
Beginning Monday, October 26, 2009, all
Richmond and Tri-Cities area hospitals are restricting visitation in the hospitals’ patient care areas.

  • Visitations to patient care areas of our hospitals, including waiting rooms and patient rooms, will be limited to healthy adults 18 years and older. No more than two adult visitors are allowed at any one time per patient. This will effect Labor and Delivery/Postpartum units, prenatal tours, sibling class content, and Teddy Bear Clinic field trips.
  • Visitors of any age with any symptoms of influenza-like illness will not be permitted in patient care areas. Bon Secours Parenting Partners

Commonwealth Parenting, offers parents, with children of all ages, an array of classes dealing with the many complexities of parenting.

Teddy Bear Clinic: Children’s Field Trip Program to Bon Secours Hospitals
Our popular and educational Teddy Bear Clinic program is geared for children ages 4 – 7 years old, and it is open to elementary schools and day care centers throughout the community. During a morning trip to our St. Mary's or St. Francis Emergency Departments, children are introduced to basic safety issues and then work with our nurses to learn about what to expect if they have to go to the hospital for a cut or broken bone! Each child brings a stuffed animal from home that will receive stitch for an imaginary cut and a small cast for an imaginary broken bone. Class sizes need to be 10-18 children. School year sessions only.
